Now don't laugh! I simply love this movie.
When I first saw it in the theatre back in 1990, I was blown away by it. I
particularly loved the gentle humor mixed in
with these fairy tale characters. It's a movie with a big heart, but even
bigger laughs. Sure, it's a bit tragic -- I mean, here's a guy with scissors
for hands. But he just wants to fit in and he
finds a family where he ALMOST does. Then, in true Hitchcock fashion, the
entire town turns against the innocent creature nearly killing it. It's tragic,
but funny and sweet.
