As "beautiful people" movies go, this one is king.
Between Annette Bening and Warren Beatty and the slick direction of Barry
Levinson, it's hard to take your eyes off this
movie. Warren Beatty literally owns the screen as Bugsy Malone, the gangster
who takes credit for "inventing" Las Vegas. He goes from charming to murderous
in the blink of an eye -- it is one of Warren's
greatest performances. And Annette Bening is like a bright light -- adding a
fascinating spark to the story.
It's true, the performances by and beauty of the
stars keeps
your eyes glued to the screen -- but it is the beautiful glossy look presented
masterfully by Barry Levinson that makes your eyes happy.
